Baffled by Facebook phenom...

Ok, I will come right out and admit it. I don't get the big deal about Facebook. I understand that about a gajillion people use Facebook to keep up with their friends and acquaintances. I have been "poked", sent "gifts" (I got virtual candy today), and "toasted". I've been invited to join all sorts of causes (some really good ones and some that are just plain weird).

How exactly is this better than email, blogging or just picking up the phone? I have spent the last few days totally ignoring my blog to figure out why Facebook has such a fascination for people.

I am trying hard to give it a chance. If someone out there reading this care to impart his or her view on the subject of Facebook, I'd love to read it!

Facebook. I don't get it, either. The "younger folk" of my family and hubby's family both use it. I really don't get it.

If there's anyone I want to keep up with, talk to, etc., I use email, the phone, blogs (mine/theirs), face-to-face conversation (gasp!).

I really wish I knew what the fascination was, too. I do know that I can't keep up with so many different ways. Facebook, twitter, blogs, email, etc. Too many.

I will stick to my basics for now. Until I am shown "the light". Ha ha.

Hope you get some other more interesting answers! I would love to learn, too.

I like Facebook because we have lived all over the country and have lost contact with a lot of people. But we have found many again, and have been found again on Facebook. It has just been easier to make contact again. And with just a quick update to my status, I can get info out to a bunch of people, easier than calling or email.

Also, I can keep up with India's friends this way. I have her passwords and know most of her friends as well, so it is just an extra security for her as well. So far I like it.

My brother twitters, but I am just "twitterpated". Heehee!~
